Hi all,
I accepted a job offer in a small town hospital in Alberta (Valleyview, to be exact) today, and I'm just wondering if there are any nurses who is working/have worked in a small town/rural area can shed some wisdom to me? I understand that it will be quite different from practicing nursing in a big city hospital, and any tips, guidance and wisdom that I can get will be greatly appreciated. Anything related will be good--from the actual nursing aspect to the living aspect.
Much thanks!

I am a nurse in small town AB. It depends on your area of practice and where you've relocated. Practice is generally more autonomous in a small town, and be prepared for just about anything. You won't have the resources that a big city does, so you need to think outside the box. Not much else I can say. Good luck :)
