Who will be applying for Fall 2022 at SJSU?

Do I have a decent chance of getting in?

TEAS 83%

hey so IDK but whats the WST-DSP self test thing I'm seeing on the advising slides all about (slide 19)? is that smth we need to do before applying or what? someone know?? is that just for transfers (thats what 9MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) seemed to be saying in the October monthly adivisng session recording..)?

Hi Guest1187207,

The BSN information packet says, "Recommended for transfers: Take the University’s WST-DSP (Writing Skills Test self- ***essment exam) at SJSU or approved by testing.sjsu.edu equivalent". The advising slides say to do this after you're accepted, but you can also do it beforehand if you'd like (I think it's supposed to be pretty quick). I'm not sure if it's required if you're already at SJSU. I would personally email them to double-check. Hope this helps!

Just submitted my application a couple days ago… here are my stats

Big 8 GPA: 3.9

TEAS: 88.3%

Good luck everyone! Hoping to see some more replies soon

Hi MyPhuong,

Good luck to you too! My stats are:

Big 8 GPA: 3.97

TEAS: 95.3%

Were you (or anyone else reading this) also affected by the NursingCAS website crash? I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to submit my application on time, but thankfully it was back up the next day!

yeah I noticed that too! but I saw on NursingCAS that they extended the deadline twice- first to Feb 16, and now it's due Feb 19 (tomorrow!).

Did anyone get an admit letter from SJSU? I got one, but I'm not sure if that means I was accepted into the school, or accepted into the BSN program.

Congrats!! I was under the impression that they start sending nursing admission letters/emails out in late April, so I'm guessing it's saying you were admitted to SJSU generally? Does it say whether you were accepted to undeclared pre-nursing or specifically to the nursing program?

Specializes in Pre-nursing student.

Hi I got accepted as well! I think it means we got accepted into the pre-nursing major, not the nursing program yet. I believe that we’ll know if we got into the nursing program by April.

I'm a bit sad, I went to check the status of my application and it says I missed the deadline. This is a bit confusing for me as I submitted to cal stateapply a month  before the deadline, and a week before the NursingCAS deadline. I hope it is a mistake on their part!

Oh no, that must be so stressful!! Do you remember paying the application fee at the end of completing your application? If you did, it should be submitted. I tried to log into NursingCAS and once I logged in it was giving me some kind of error message, so maybe it’s just a glitch on their end. It can’t hurt to email the nursing program and let them know about the situation though.

Yeah, I got the general SJSU admit letter too! I checked the email we got from (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) around 2 weeks ago and it said something like they’re trying to get the decisions for nursing out in late April.

Hi guys, I got a message saying that I was accepted into the SJSU too. However, I don't think I will be accepted into the nursing program since my TEAS score is not good enough. In the email that (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) sent out earlier, the competitive TEAS score this year is 91%. I was wondering that should I continue my application (which means I have to pay $250 fee and have my transcripts send to them? or I should withdraw it?

I also was accepted into nursing program at Evergreen, and it has an integrated program RN-BSN with SJSU. My concern is if I withdraw my application at SJSU right now, will it impact my RN-BSN later if I get accepted into this program?

I would probably email them and ask if there’s a chance you could be accepted. I think I’m the past they have recommended that you go ahead and pay the fee and do your next steps because if you don’t and you’re accepted to nursing, I don’t think there’s anything they can do if you didn’t complete the steps to attend SJSU.

I am not sure about the integrated program with Evergreen and if withdrawing would affect you in the future. That would be a good question to ask both SJSU admissions and the nursing program.

I hope that’s helpful!

Thank you so much for your feedback. I just check email again, and the deadline to enroll and pay fee is May 1. At that time, I will already know if I get accepted into the nursing or not.

Thank you again and good luck to you!
