I already applied for Nursing at SJSU for Fall 2012 and I am just waiting for the acceptance/nonacceptance now. I am beyond stress and worried that I might now get in because I am competing with so many smart applicants. I impaction is extremely low, its a 10.08, and usually the cut off are around 10.02-10.10, so I am basically at the cut off point. I am proud of my impaction score because I know that I did the BEST I could, but the problem is maybe my best isn't enough. I really want to focus on my current classes right now, but I find it extremely hard while I wait for my possible denied letter. I don't have an option B career, nursing has been the only thing I wanted to do ever since I was little, so if I don't get in, i'll be extremely disappointed and depressed. I contacted the nursing committee to ask them when they will be sending out the acceptance/denied letters, and they said they would be sending letters out the first week of May. Waiting is really tiring. I okay to wait if you know you have a high impaction score and have a high chance of getting in the nursing program, but if you have a low impaction score like me; in the range of being cut off, it's really nerve racking. I really hope someone understands what I am going through, because I it's really hard to express with words how I am feeling right now. Thank you guys. I appreciate any advices/input! What was the lowest impaction score that got into the nursing program your semester?
Hope for the best biglaughter! I didn't think I would get in either. I have a not so great academic history so I was afraid that it would ruin my chances, but I had to pursue my dream and you don't get there without applying for it! I dont know exactly my prereq is probably around a 3.0 maybe higher because I don't know how repeats get calculated. TEAS was 92.7 and last 30 units i had a 3.9.
My letter says 62.
The envelope is a large, white manila envelope. It's not very thick, I was thinking it was probably a denial letter. Anyway, it says they are only accepting 62 students for the Fall. I am still waiting for the decision from CSUEB, but I won't hold my breath as I think that school is more competitive.
You're right, I just looked at the letter again and it says 62, not 65. Will you be attending the program? Biglaughter, unfortunately it doesn't have a cutoff score. Crossing my fingers for you!!
what in the world are you talking about, your impaction score is up there with seashell.... You guys both have a ridicuoouously high impaction score. I starting to think that only people with high impaction score get their letters of acceptance early...I feel....like I don't have a chance competing against you guys....*sigh*, I am so stress out...
Yes, I did apply somewhere else. I applied to two nursing programs, one is SJSU, the other one is Stanislaus in Turlock. But I really want to get accepted into SJSU because it is near home. I am worried because the cutoff point is usually around 10.02-10.10; so that means I am right at the cutoff point.
