SJR State/ SJRCC Nursing

Anyone out there applying to the Summer term 2012 nursing program at St John's? I am applying and am really nervous! Just figured I would start a thread to see if anyone else was! :) What do you think the average points are for getting in?

Can anyone confirm that SJR doesn't take into account the A&P section? Also is it true that they never fill up with 1st category applicants? Btw just moved to the area. Hello =)

They do not take into account the A&P section on the HESI. You are only required to take the Reading, Math, Vocab andGeneral Knowledge, and Grammar and pass with a 75% or higher in each of those sections. I guess it depends on who all applies, but from past application periods, they said they don't typically fill up the program with just 1st category students, although I guess it is possible!

Accepted!! I turned in my acceptance form yesterday to OP campus and recieved an email today about orientation.

Congratulations MyPathtoNursing and s.marie333! I will see you April 9th at orientation :) Also, there will me a lady there from worksource to get all of that started for us. Spoke with her yesterday in the nursing office.

Yay! I haven't turned mine in yet! Can you explain worksource to me please? Not really sure what that is! I'm so excited!!

Worksource will pay for all of our tuition and books throughout the nursing program plus boards at the end. It's different than pell grants or any other financial aid. If you don't qualify for that, you may still be covered through worksource. The person I spoke with also said that since I do get financial aid, I may be able to still recieve it even with worksource to help with living expenses since I will no longer be able to work full time as I have been. I will take any help I can get! Definitely worth looking into.

So happy for us!!! Definitely looking forward to meeting you guys at orientation. Haven't turned in my acceptance letter yet; didn't realize the college was closed this week due to spring break but will be there first thing Monday a.m. with it in hand.

Well, while it was nice to find out acceptance so soon after the deadline, I am going crazy just sitting here with nothing to do! I am ready for orientation so I will know the specifics on things and can get busy crossing things off the list. I am so excited but starting to get nervous already. I just saw that in OP, there are only 3 openings for last semester classes. That is insane. Hope everyone is enjoying the downtime before May 9th. See you all Monday

:bow:Hi, I am so glad you got in. I am trying for the August 1 class. How did you study for the HESI? Did you get a book, online? Did you find it helped? Please help.

I hope you reply.

Thank you so much and God Bless you and your new career!!!!!!!!
