Hi,
I'm Mo. New to this site. I was wondering if someone can answer this question for me;
What is the explanation to the size of the left ventricle increasing in size with age? I'm not understanding how this happens. I'm sure it has a simple explanation to it and I'm over complicating it.
Please, take a moment to answer this question for me.
Thanks,
Mo

The heart is a muscle. Like any muscle, it will enlarge to compensate for pumping problems, such as if it needs to work harder to get the same results. Also, it will enlarge if it is unable to eject all the blood in the ventricle and the blood begins to back up (the ventricle will get stretched-out).
I don't know if that made any sense. :)
It made sense. Thank you. :nuke:
