I was wondering if anyone else had applied to SIUE CRNA (Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville) program for the Spring 2011 term. Has anyone received an interview letter? I know interviews will be held September 10, but wanted to see if anyone knew any more about the admission process, what to expect or anything about the program that might be helpdful. Any advice from current students would help as well. Thanks!
I got a letter yesterday and am IN!!! Am so excited! Any one else get a letter? Stlrngrl, wait list means they call you when someone drops out. I gave 2 workmates who were accepted but their first choices is Webster so hopefully they drop and they take you do take heart. I also know of a workmate who was number 6 in the wait list for last year and got called in 2 weeks before classes started!
Thanks guys. I'm #2 on the waitlist so I am going to pretend Im in and finish my prerequisite and get PALS cert and then just wait around. Glad to here you got in!!!! Good luck! This is my only choice so If I don't get in I'll reapply for 2012. I think I am also going to take some of the graduate classes that are part of the program in the january semester if there is space. I have two little kids and the easier the program is when I do get in the better it is. I hate two wait till two weeks before class....will feel so unprepared. Will keep you guys posted. Thanks for encouragement and let me know if you know anyone that might not go there. I don't know anyone else that applied.
SIUE is the only school I applied to so atleast I'm not in your situation. That would be very frustrating. Where are you? Are you in Illinois? They don't make this easy do they? My sister lives in minnesota!!! That's where I would go if i ddn't have my hubby and kids here. I did throw out the idea of going away to grad school to mu husband and he just gave me the evil eye! I don't know what I'd do if I were you....sorry. I'll just tell you to pray for the answer. I wonder when they have to accept till. Maybe the one's that did get accepted can clue us in.
stlrngrl,
Definitely go ahead and finish your preriquisites and PALS and plan like you would be starting school next year. Will keep you in the loop about my workmates. Both of them are very smart and got accepted to SIUE but are hoping to attend webster so there is definitely hope for you :). I wish you all the best.

I had an interview too at SIUE. I asked the director about the letters and he said it was going to take a couple of weeks. I am thinking maybe its because this year they interviewed more people?? Last year they interviewed 45 people but this year they increased to 60!!! 5 of my former workmates got accepted last year and they did get their letters after 2 weeks.
I wish everyone an acceptance letter :)
