Anybody here got admitted to SIU Edwardsville for Accelerated BSN - Fall 2015?

Hey how are you? Did you hear back from The program . I got my acceptance letter the second week of December and paid for my spot. Once you get the letter you have to take a physical in which they haven't told me when yet but I know its sometime in the summer from what my friends told me that are I'n the program from last year

I got my acceptance letter last december also. Just checking this forum to see if there are other students for fall 2015 cohort.. they said we have to wait for the packet right?

Also, how was the program according to ur friends? :)

Congradulations ☺️ And yes we have to wait until after April 1st when the application process closes and one of my friends just graduated from the program and is now working at Barnes Jewish hospital and I have another one that just finished the first semester and she said its tuff because all the classes have so much work but basically the first semester is all classes and the last 3 semesters are all 8 weeks clinicals but she loves it as well as the other one that just graduated she loved it to but they recommend not working so that's where im stuck at but we will see what happens . Do you live in edwardsville ?

@mahurt. Im from carbondale. Im just a lil nervous coz i have zero clinical / hospital experience. Do u live in edwardsville? It sucks coz i have to move there for this program, but hopefully everything works out.

It's fine I'm pretty sure you will do great . We all come from different backgrounds and I'm sure they will teach us what we need to know for success. No worries you'll be fine :) And yeah I live in edwardsville. I'm originally from Bolingbrook Illinois . I graduated from siue in May 2013 with a biology degree and minor in chemistry . My plan was to go to medical school . I took the mcat shadowed doctors and one day I was assigned to shadow a nurse practitionar and I loved it . So then I applied to the program hoping I was going to get accepted and moved here praying that I moved here for a purpose and when I found out I got in I knew it was meant to be so it was meant for you to get accepted don't worry at all I'm sure you'll be great

It's funny coz ive been thinking about going to medical school also. I actually thought about just doing my premeds and take the mcat when im done. But i already have thia absn, plus med school is gonna take forever. Im turning 28 this year, and i feel like im already too old for medscho lol. I just wish this semester is over (im taking my last 3 prereqs) so we can jump right at the program and be done with it lol... not looking forward to the busy days ahead lol

Yeah I understand . You will do amazing and even if you chose to be a doctor later or even a nurse practitionar you are still working in a positive direction you know . And your still young so you have so many possibilities . What did you have a bachelors in? And you'll do great don't worry and the aprtments here are kinda cheap so hopefully you'll find something . It's crazy where life takes you but never give up on yourself and work hard and you can accomplish anything í ½í¸‰

I wish this forum has a personal inbox or something. Thanks im gonna try to do good (i just want to at least pass) :) i got a liberal arts degree wayback in 2004. My husband and i will rent an apartment out there. Im sure u will do great in the program, with ur science background :) do u know anyone else going to the program this fall? :)

We both will do great and no unfortunately I wish I did . And you'll find something me and my boyfriend live in these aprtments in edwardsville that are 645 a month idk if that's to much but I can give you the info if your interested . But some more apartments open up in the summer so hopefully something cheaper comes about that's what we need. But I know the program has professors that want us to be successful so we will see how it goes but I am very excited !

i will probably look for apartments in june or late may and will def look into ur recommendations. Do u know if we have an orientation? I think we also have to get a CPR certification and couple of vax. And also do u happen to know which hospital(s) they put their past students? Thanks :)
