Hi all!
I was just accepted to Simmons College FNP program January 2015 Cohort! I received an unexpected phone call this morning from my wonderful recruiter and I was too excited and shocked. My application was sent to the faculty board last Tuesday, November 18, 2014 and today is November 24, 2014. I hard back so quickly and at first I didn't think I would get in. My GPAs were consistent at 3.0 and I just know that there were other people who had much better GPAs. I think the only difference is that I went to Grad School for two semesters, so I had a Graduate GPA, which helped me out some. I heard back in less than a week and I felt so good! I think it is important to have a Strong personal statement and strong recommendations by fellow nurse practitioners, nursing instructors, and great supervisors. I am so grateful!
Is anyone else joining me on this ride?!

Congrats ! I will be in March after the Bio course . It took about a week for me to hear back also. Really had expected it to be longer. My GPA was nearly 30 years old and not great ,so they do look beyond the GPA. I credit my fabulous recommendations or rather the people that wrote them. The entire application process makes you WANT to be accepted.
Thanks a lot. I am so nervous! They do look beyond the GPA, which is great. It is super important to have a great deal of experience and recommendations under your belt! I am going part time because I cannot afford to stop working and go to school. I wish I had the option though! Nice to meet you :-)

Congrats and good luck to those waiting. I'm halfway through my third term. The work is no-joke! It's challenging but really interesting and I love the format of the classes and so far all my instructors have been awesome!
