Things I have actually said or thought at some point this week - see item #3 for how it is I keep my job. Which ones were actually voiced? Hey, a gal's gotta have some secrets.

1.) "If they can't be a good example, they'll just have to be my horrible warning."

2.) "...but can you explain to me, in detail, how you possibly thought that was a GOOD idea?"

3.) "You can think it in your head all you want, just don't let it come out of your mouth!"

4.) "So then it turns out we don't actually NEED an ICRA for this project, but I'd already finished it, so we're definitely using it." (Oh, yeah, I do infection control, too.)

5.) "Am I just going to have to move in to this hospital to make sure no one does anything questionable while I'm off?"

6.) "Let me go up to the unit really quick, waste my time explaining this, and let them do whatever the heck they were going to do anyway as soon as I leave."

7.) "I like filling in during staffing shortages, actually. The patients are WAY easier to deal with."

8.) "So, to be clear, murder is off the table as a motivational tool?"

9.) "I'm quitting and becoming a cruise director."

10.) "I feel like I've spent my day rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic."

In all seriousness...I actually do love my job. Most of the time. And when I don't...I cope with a healthy dose of humor. Feel free to share your "isms" with me for when the going gets rough! :)

Or, as my Dad use to warn me, "Don't let your bee-bee gun brain overload your shotgun mouth!"
