I work in a new large assisted living/ personal care home. I have two residents in particular that become very ill when the windows are shut and they stay in more. Incontinence, dyspnea, wheezing, dizziness and weakness not to mention workup for Parkinsons. Then comes the incredible array of tests and increase of medications, some very new and not tolerated well. I feel the very system that is supposed to be taking care of them is making them very ill. Does any one know of how sick building syndrome is documented as to their effect on the elderly? I know the book " Is This My Child's World" by Doris Rapp is very good, but after reading it I sent it back to the library with the feeling that these chemicals and allergies were too pervasive. Any input is appreciated. Thanks
