Hey everyone! I havent seen any topics including Sam Houston state University, so I thought I would make one! This can be for general application questions and a way for us to stay on top of all the details of the process. 

You can start by introducing yourself and adding a question you have.

We are required to take TEAS and upload it to Nursingcas instead of sending it to SHSU.

Hi all,

I am am retaking my TEAS before submitting my application. The first time I took it my internet cut off and I couldn't log back in for almost an hours ( my luck). So results were no good.

I hope we all get in and I see you in January. Does anyone know how long they usually need before they send letters of acceptance?

Hi guys,

I just finished my TEAS test today, which wasn't very reassuring. I got 84% overall: 77% in Reading, 85% in Math, 93% in Science, and 81% in Grammar. I heard that SHSU focuses on the reading and math portion and that I did not meet their competitive average. So I feel a little bit down. 

I also have a 4.0 GPA. Besides that, I don't have any other experience or certifications. In case I don't get accepted; I plan to strengthen my application by getting certifications (maybe CNA or CCMA) and some experience.

hey yall check your emails - just got a letter. I got alternate applicant so kinda bummed but hopefully it'll work out in the end ?

I havent received anything yet. Where did it send to? Personal or school email?

shsu email. I applied with that one because I already go there LOL

Hi, guys I don't know if y'all have heard but they have started sending out acceptance letters, so keep an eye out on your SHSU emails! Good luck to everyone else and hope you guys become part of cohort 27!

I got my acceptance letter on September 22nd but IDK if they send them all out at once or if its like one by one

I think they may send out all of them together and then if you don't reserve your spot in a week they start sending alternate acceptance letters but IDK
