Should LPN take RN NCLEX review course to help pass boards?

I graduated LPN program in 2023.  I took the NCLEX twice and failed.   I want to take an NCLEX course.  They have one in my area, but only RN.   The teacher said she had a couple of LPN's students take the course and they passed.

So what should I do?

I'm sorry you haven't passed the NCLEX yet, especially after all the hard work you've put in.

However, regarding a prep course, I would prefer one designed explicitly for LPN NCLEX preparation.

The teacher mentioned that a couple of LPNs completed the course and subsequently passed the NCLEX, but this is not a strong endorsement. Don't spend your money. The instructor might be looking to boost class enrollment, or the LPNs may have employed other strategies for success. It would be helpful to ask the LPNs what additional NCLEX preparation techniques they used.

Here are my recommendations:

  •  First and foremost, enroll in an LPN NCLEX online test bank. There, you will be asked question after question in NCLEX format. You will be given rationales for your answers. Take these until you have consistent passing grades.
  • Focus your studies. Look into what specific areas you struggled with on your previous attempts.
  •  Consider a tutor who specializes in LPN NCLEX prep. Also ask the instructor if she has any connections who tutor or teach LPN NCLEX prep courses.

Don't give up! Trust me, your chances of success are good if you focus and strategize your preparation. Good luck with your upcoming LPN career.
