Should I take out loans??

I will be starting and ADN program in January. I am going through a cohort with my local community college and my employer pays my tuition. In order to attend this day RN program, I need to drop down to part time and will be losing about $800 a month income. Would it be foolish to take about $1000 in loans per semester as extra money in case I will need it? Or should I not be adding any more student loan debt and struggle a little for the 2 years? Any advice is appreciated :)

What would the extra $1000 be for? School books? I personally would not place myself into anymore debt than need be. The decision is up to you of course and what is best for your situation.

The money would be for textbooks and to cover any costs my pay from work wouldn't. I'm just so worried about taking a cut in pay, but you're right, I also don't want to be adding debt. Have to weigh the options.

I would say it depends on how much debt you are in. Also, no Stress is needed if you are able to get a loan and it's little . I say go for it. You can always pay $20 every other week down on the loan. You wouldn't be stressing over the cost of school . One less thing to worry about and you'll be covering the loan every other week.

I've taken loans, whatever money comes my way. My fiduciary security trumps fear about loans. I have been strategic in my schooling up to BSN: ADN at a JC/cc (free) and a cal state with te same free tuition. I take loans every semester.
