Should I take Intro to Stats this semester?

Published

My schedule is Chemistry, Micro, two humanities, and a psych class. I am planning to drop this one hour credit class for the introduction to statistics class for pre-req needed for this nursing school I am applying for. Should I enroll in Intro to Stats this semester? Any advice is accepted. Please and Thank you!

I would wait. I wouldn't take stats with Chemistry, but that's just me.

Stats is a tough class. At my school it's referred to as a "weeding class" due to it's difficulty. I took my stats class during a part-time term along with speech and managed to get an A- out of it, but I couldn't imagine taking it with micro, chemistry, or A&P.

Your schedule sounds like a tremendous load. Chemistry and Micro together are intense! And to add Statistics to the mix would be a recipe for disaster in my opinion. I think you should wait until next semester to take Statistics because it is a challenging class.

I would wait. I took stats with chem but those were my only courses that quarter. I did fine in both courses, but I think my chem grade would have been slightly higher if I'd taken an easier class with it. (I also started a new job just before the quarter started which may have also had an impact).

Both Chem and Micro are going to be quite a bit of work together and I would not want to add stats into that mix.

Thats a lot of work. I took Music, history, nutrition and stats together in the summer semester and it was difficult because of the shortened semester. I ended up with a B+ in stats. I would rethink taking it with that heavy of a class load.

I would definitely wait, unless putting this off until next semester means you miss an application deadline.

I was nuts in my first degree with my course load. I wouldn't do it again if I didn't have to.
