Should I still apply here?

Published

Hey everyone, I passed my NCLEX a few weeks back, and I've just been applying to some positions at different hospitals, but I have an interest in psych. I find the theory interesting, and I still remember a good amount in terms of disorders, meds, and therapeutic techniques, and my best evals came from my psych clinical.

So I'm looking at this one place that's hiring several positions that I meet the requirements for, but I feel a bit odd applying. About almost 4 months back, I had a suicide attempt (long story), and I was a "voluntary admit" to this facility for about a week. I don't know if the staff would remember me (I really hope not), would it be a really bad idea to apply here anyway?

Weird topic I guess... but I don't want to apply if anyone knows anything about people who would be unwilling to hire if a similar situation occurred. Thanks in advance :)

IMO bad idea. nurses/staff members remember things and i guarantee you that they will know who you are.

2 cohorts before me a nursing student was admitted voluntarily during nursing school, while her class was supposed to do their psych clinicals. We have very few psych facilities available in this area and the school had them do videos and other work during her admission so she wouldn't have to see her classmates. She stayed in contact with our CI for that rotation (she's the PM Charge of the unit) and ended up working at a different psych facility, but had great references.

Hope that helps.

Well thanks for the feedback you two. I at least applied to the other units in that facility, not the one I was admitted to...
