Should I not rush and reschedule my NCLEX?

Published

I graduated from the PN program at the end of March, started studying around April, took it around June and didn't pass. I was thinking of getting into to it right away at July but ended up scheduling for august. I hate to sound like a slacker but I didn't study as much as I could after I didn't pass it the first time. Now that it's august, I'm finally back into the kick of things and I do feel better and I feel like the first time was an experience and not so much as "let down". Thing is, I have it scheduled for next week but I don't have that feeling of "I want to take this but I got it". Also my friend's wedding is this month, including all festivities us bridesmaids have to go through *augh* and I don't want THAT to be an excuse if I don't make it again. Also, if it's one piece of surprising advice I got from someone lately is "don't rush". My other friend was in this same situation 2 years ago - same timeline. She took a vacation august and took the NCLEX in september and passed... she told me I'm not going to "forget" the information but rather training my mind to get used to it more...

should I just reschedule it?

If you do not feel ready to sit the exam then I would say yes reschedule the exam but a lot will depend on whether your ATT expires as usually once issued valid only for 90 days
