Should I memorize the conversions for the math portion

Published

Hey guys

I am preparing for the TEAS V exam ahead of time and I wanted to know for the math portion should I memorize the conversions like the whole

1km=0.62 mile

1m=39.37inch

1cm=0.394inch

etc..

there is a lot more but I don't know if they will be given to us or we have to memorize all of them? I would really appreciate any tips/advice or if you have taken the exam before please share some of your experiences.

Thank you.

Hello,

When I took the test the conversions were given.

They might not have given them on the very basic one such as inches to feet, I can not remember for sure.

They were provided if necessary on mine (took it last week) Make sure you can do basic stuff (changing from percent to fraction to decimal etc.) Also adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing all of the above...word problems (pretty basic) and FOIL, PEMDAS. Also work rate problems (i.e., if person A paints in 3 hours, B in 10 hours, how much together?)

I was super thankful for the math section! it is the only section I was able to know going in that I could make 100%.

Thank you Guys! this really helps!

The km to mi conversion - just remember "1609344" to the tune of "807-5309"; congrats, it's now burned into your memory... :)

I agree, memorize the basics...but the more complicated things will be given to you. Good luck!
