Last Tuesday, I interviewed for an inpatient hospice RN position with a large hospital system that I have worked for successfully in the past. This first interview was with an HR person, and I felt that it went very, very well. We hit it off, and she seemed very interested. At the end of the interview she told me that the next step would be an interview with the hospice manager, and that someone would be calling me very soon to set up that interview. Now it's been a full week, and I'm not sure what to do. If you were in my shoes, would you call the HR person who I had the good interview with and ask her if the position (actually, there were several positions that they needed to fill in this inpatient hospice, so I have more than one chance) has been filled or if I should still expect a phone call? I don't want to appear pushy, but at the same time, other companies have called me and I am stalling them because I really want this particular job the most. I have hospice experience and am a certified Hospice and Palliative Care nurse, so I am qualified.
I just don't know how to handle this.
