Quick question: I feel like it’s probably fine and I’m overthinking it but wanted to get other’s opinion since HR is essentially the connection between you and a job and I don’t want to screw anything up.
Today I got a call from HR about my having put in a couple of applications at the hospital. They named off several units that were hiring and basically asked me what I was interested in and what my first choice was. (They’re in high need of nurses in multiple areas right now due to a previous catastrophe)
I replied that NICU was my first choice (my last job and experience) but that I was open to anything. I didn’t care for any of the other areas she mentioned except for endoscopy. I told her if I ever left NICU I’d thought about trying Endo.
anyway she linked me up w an interview for NICU. She said if I have any questions to get in touch etc... I was thinking, is it ok to ask to be hooked up with an endo interview too? This hospital is mass hiring after a caestrophe sent ppl scattering. I feel like in HR’s eyes they’d be ok with me interviewing for multiple positions because there’s more of a chance that at least one of their positions will be filled. But I guess I also don’t want to give the impression that I’m not highly interested in NICU because I definitely am!!
Ive just considered a daytime job with less acuity for a bit now (the NICU job will be nights and I was previously on nights, not that I mind, I generally enjoy nights VS days in the NICU. Don’t get me wrong it still gets crazy but there’s overall less visitors/procedures) and have looked into endo and it sounds like something I’d like - rotating in and out of pre op, procedure, and recovery sounds like a busy but enjoyable day to me. I didn’t want to kick myself for not taking a stab at an interview but like I said, I don’t want to come across as not being highly focused on NICU and give the wrong impression because I absoutely love NICU! I just want to keep options open.
I feel like if I actually got offered both it’d be a tough decision to leave NICU or not, but I’d kind of like to have that option nonetheless. And I’d like to learn more about Endo and this hospital’s unit.
so am I overthinking this? Probably! Hah! So should I ask if I’m able to interview for more than one job or does that look bad?
thanks for your feedback!

I was just interviewing for multiple positions within my hospital system with no issue. If anything, the different units were courting me to pick their unit, even as a PRN staff member.
Interviewing for 20 positions is questionable but interviewing for 2-3 positions I really think is no issue.
That was my thinking. I just get paranoid! Thanks!!
