Definitely choose more than one, like previous posted recommended, not more than 3. There's nothing wrong with this. No sense putting all your eggs in one basket and not getting the spot. Do make it known what your preference is as #1 and don't apply for any that you aren't willing to take

There's an internship opening for different units in the hospital. Should I apply to my top 3 choices... or just apply to one of them? I'm afraid the recruiter will think I'm not serious about the specific floor I want to work on. But then again, I want to apply everywhere just so I have a higher possibility of getting a job.
