I'm a new nursing student and i have 2-3 years ahead of me. i was wondering
how long this nursing shortage will last and how well the job market will be when i
finish in 2001?

Have you done some web-surfing into jobs available for nurses? There are many, many out there. Yes, most want experience. But, there will ALWAYS be a need for nurses (unless we really get like star trek). With a nursing license, you can go anywhere in the country and get a job. If I were you, I really wouldn't be too concerned about it. Worst case, you'd have to settle for a less desirable job to gain some experience, take a few certification courses to improve your resume, and then go for that better job. Good luck!!
