short term training in pcola CNA or Phlebotomy

hi guys

I'm interested in taking a short term (i mean SHORT) training course in either CNA or Phlebotomy.

I completed a weekend course with medtexx for Phleb but feel that i dont have enough experience to be employed.

Does anyone here have any suggestions on where to go besides the PJC? i can attend a 2 week course in alabama (mobile) thats 5 days a week 9-5 to sit for my CNA exam but would like to find something closer...

either course would be okay with me.. I love the idea of working as a phlebotomist but i see problems with not having enough sticks or experience.

Some of the nursing homes around here occasionally have CNA classes. But, short term? You have to work a certain amount of clinical hours in order to take your test and become certified.

And, phlebotomy? I'm not sure that is short term either. I know Baptist had a class before.

If you are just looking for a job that is similar to CNA's...email me. I work in a home for the developmentally disabled and we have TI's (training instructors) there. You don't have to be a CNA but do the same thing. It is a heck of a lot easier than CNA work at the nursing home though. I think it is even more rewarding because the people you take care of are young and healthy. The death rate is much lower than in a NH. I've worked there a year and a half and only 1 lady has died.

hey guys,

i'm currently nursing student in Pensacola, and the only CNA classes I know about are through PJC, or directly throught the nursing home. As for phlebotomy, I am starting the Baptist program that the above poster mentioned on Monday. It is like a 3-month deal and will take the majority of my summer.

Michelle, is your facility hiring for weekends? I'm trying to find something related to nursing, but can only work weekends. Thanks.
