Hey Everyone,
So, while I'm waiting to hear from several JCs I've applied to to see if I won the "lottery" to become an RN, I was thinking of getting my LVN license in case I don't get into any programs this year. Does anyone recommend any schools with short programs in So Cal (mainly LA and OC areas) that are accredited to transfer to other schools to bridge for LVN-RN? If so, how long are their programs and how much? Private schools are ok. Thanks! :)

I went to Maric (now Kaplan) in North San Diego but I know that they have an LVN program in North Hollywood. Exactly 52 weeks @ $26,000.

Private LVN schools are pricey. About 1.5-2 years I ran across last semester Kaplan students from the North Hollywood CA facility. They were excited about the program being almost over --they were in an excellerted program that was 9 months--and that they had applied to the ADN program. They said that the cost of the RN program was about the same as the LVN program. I have no idea if Kaplan ever got accreditation and from the post above, it appears the company changed names.
Once you get your LVN, you will still need to do a bridge course--if you can find one or enter as a advanced student into an existing ADN program.
