I sometimes keep extra scrubs in my locker, but not always. I've only had to use them once. :)
As for shoes, if you go to the main "Nurses" tab and go down to Nursing Shoes and Footwear, you can read all kinds of recommendations. Personally, I rotate a pair of Crocs with a pair of Birkis and it works very well for me. :)

i was thinking of crocs, but which ones tho? the swiss-cheese ones (lol the hole-y ones)
or do they make other types of shoes?

I do NOT wear the ones with holes in them to work - I'd end up having soaked, dirty feet every night. They actually make a lot of different styles! I had a pair of Specialists (with side vents) that I wore until they were worn out, and I recently replaced them with a pair of the new Mercy Works. I got them in white, I think they're actually pretty cute for what they are. Here's a link to the "work shoes" section at Crocs:

The Mercy Works especially are super cushiony, and they do have slightly more arch support than the specialists. They are also a little narrower and less clunky looking, and more slip resistant. :)
really? cause i have a high arch and narrow foot so the mercy works would be better?
They are definitely narrower. They still don't have the arch support that something like Birks have, but they do have more than other Crocs styles.
I have high arches, too. I get arch support inserts and I add them to my Crocs for the best of both worlds - extra support, but soft cushion and great shock absorption.
good idea and thanks!
