Hi guys. I'm going to be starting on a general inpatient short stay psych unit on 7P-7A night shift. Group report is taken on all patients (it's a 26 bed adult unit) and nurse/patient ratio fluctuates based on unit acuity. When I worked as a tech, I noted axis I dx, hx of violence/seclusion/restraints, hx leading to current admission as necessary but I'm curious, what do you guys take down in report? I know it's important to know about the general climate of the unit and patients as they're not isolated to their rooms, but what is most helpful to you throughout your shift? I'll definitely ask my preceptor when I start, but I'm just seeing what's been helpful to others.
