Shift Question, are twelve hour shifts usually offered?

Hi,

I have spent most of today lurking on this forum and find it very helpful, as I am contemplating getting my CNA, but I do have one question, most who have posted in reference to shifts have spoke mostly about 7-3,3-11,or 11-7. I have read a few references to 3 day work weeks at 7-7 either am or pm start times. I personally would prefer graveyard but would find it difficult to do five days per week, how prevelent are the three twelve hour shifts both in LTC and hospital settings? My concern is under the thread "which shift do you prefer" I only saw it refered to two or three times. Is this shift usally offered? I am in northern Florida. Any help appreciated, Thank's

I've looked everywhere. But that's just my experience. Hopefully, maybe I'm wrong. As for as Ohio winters...I can get used to them. I don't intend on living in South Florida forever. Not enough opportunity here, among other things.

umm, well here in TX the majority of places, hospitals/LTC are 12 hour shifts. it supposed to reduce call ins. anyway i prefer the 12 hours because i only have to work 3 days a week before i go into over time. in the hospitals here, i only get 30 min lunch though.

Maybe I need to move to Texas. I don't care if I have to spend the rest of my life working in LTC as long as I can work 12-hr shifts.
