Sheridan Healthcare

Sheridan came to our school today and what they presented sounded really good to me. Just wanted to get other people's opinion on them. There is a hospital in miami (Baptist) that sounded like it would right up my alley. If anyone can give their opinion I would appreciate it.

Sigma,

We enjoyed the talk from our distance sites...are they only located in Florida? I missed a portion of the discussion.

Was the food good? They are wooing you guys good. have a beer at the Flying Saucer tomorrow for me.

I forgot the name of the restaurant, but it was fajitas. They were pretty good. Most of their facilities are in florida. They have JPS in fort worth, 1 spot in colorado (pueblo), arizona, a couple of spots in maryland and one spot in lafayette, la.

Sheridan has quite a few facilities, and tons of positions available. If it is a such a great place to work for, why the multiple and constant openings? If you are really interested, go to the facility and talk with the CRNAs already there. But I have never heard anything good about the Sheridan facilities in Florida, and I trained there.

I am at TCU and we got the same presentation you guys did. Didn't sound that great to me at all. From looking at the pay scales FL seems just a little below the rest of the nation. Being from Louisiana I am sick of hurricanes and hot and humid weather too, so that has something to do with my opinion. Just wondering what in particular appealed to you. The fajitas byt the way were from pappasitos (sp) at least that's where ours came from. Pretty good huh!

I liked the fact that I could do hospital, outpatient surgery, and go to a ped's hospital all in the miami area. Plus, its miami. I have family in florida already. That's what sounded good to me. The fajitas were pretty good.

The fajitas rocked! I see if you already have family down there and that's where you want to be I understand. It just sucks that the pay in FL sems so low compared to other states. Do you know why this is?

My guess on the pay would be that it is Florida and they probably have no problem finding anesthesiologists to move there. The more desirable areas to live are going to pay a little less then other places. Just my humble opinion.

I also think that florida is one of the states that lets aa's work.

No, FL does not let AA's practice, that is misinformation.

Someone who is in my class who is from FL said that it's just flooded and no competition. Think about it..lots of old folks, lots of hospitals. Thats just the way it seems for that state.
