Sheridan College Practical Nursing May 2015 applicant

Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello all!

Just a couple questions.. first time on this site.

I've applied to Sheridan's Practical Nursing program for May 2015, and am currently enrolled in the Pre-health profile that guarantees placement into the program with a 3.0 GPA and minimum 70% in my math and science courses, HOAE results (but not contingent on), and there being space in the program (I'd end my current program mid April, and start nursing at the beginning of May).

I am finishing my 1st semester in the Pre-health program now, with an approx. 3.69 GPA.

I also took the Retail Pharmacy Assistant program (Jan. 2014), and I'm guessing that counted for some of my credits as I now have my Grade 12 C/U Math (I took pharmacy math last semester with an 88 - I'm assuming that's what they counted Grade 12 math?), Chemistry 12 U/C, and English as I took Comm as well, now only needing my biology from this semester and I'll have all of my admission requirements.

I had a couple questions I was hoping some of you might be able to answer!

Has anyone applied to Sheridan for May 2015?

Or already taken to health-profile and are now enrolled in Sheridan's nursing program?

Does anyone know approx. how many spots are available in the May nursing program?

How soon after I take the HOAE will I find out if I've gotten in?

Does anyone have any opinions/experiences in Sheridan's program? Good or bad? What are their placements like? (I've heard there's only long-term care placements?)

Anything would be much appreciated!!! Thanks in advance.

This is the exact planned route I am taking. Could you provide an update on how it went for you?
