One of the biggest barriers in obtaining health care is the distance that an average Indian must travel just to pick up medications. This video is made in reference to a common experience on a Blackfeet Reservation in Montana. The trip was 7 hours, $50 in gas and 412 miles...an all day affair. This, of course, does not take in account the many Indian who are poor and do not have the monies to make such a trip or who may not have a car to make such travel. He also speaks of the lack of funding for the Indian in addressing health care needs....such as lack of pharmacists.
