Sharp New Grad Residency October/November 2023

Updated:   Published

Just wanted to start a thread for next cohort. Where have you guys applied? I applied to MICU at grossmont and float pool in chula

Hello! I have a question for those of you who were offered a new grad nurse position in Labor & Delivery!

Which certification courses did you take prior to submitting your application? NRP, Fetal Heart Monitoring, etc.?! I want to get prepared for the next application period!

Specializes in New Grad RN ADN, currently enrolled in my BSN.

AWHONN POEP, NRP, EFHM, ACLS, BLS. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Hope that helps!

Specializes in L&D.

I am doing MNNC through SCCEd before the start date, and already have NRP, BLS, ACLS, PALS, the 4-course OB bundle through SCCEd which included BFHM. I have my CNA license but no experience. I also volunteered with Sharp and work there now to get in the system and network. Best of luck!

Thanks for this! For the POEP program I saw that it was nearly $5,000 to enroll! is this correct? Also, how long did it take you to complete it. I see on the website that it is independent study so at your own pace but it seems like that might take a long time.

Hi guys I was wondering how long you think it will take to receive the official job offer after the reference checks? Thanks in advance!

It's $200-250. The accredited hours are like 40-50hrs but it didn't take me as nearly as long as that. The modules are skippable and you can go back to them anytime even after you finish the whole thing. Super great resources and learning material for new grad!

oh okay! Thats not too bad, on the website it says institutional price is $4950 so that must be for if hospitals want to purchase it for their employees. Thank you for the info!

Hey guys! I am scheduling when to take my NCLEX, for those of you who have how long did it take for your license to be posted on boards?
