Hello there!
You will love living in San Diego. Sharp Healthcare overall is a great organization. I worked at Sharp Memorial for a short time and it was great! They have a brand new building that is absolutely beautiful! The nurses I worked with were very nice folks. The pay rate at Sharp is VERY competitive.
Sharp has several hospitals and even more clinics, so you have many options in San Diego County. Highly recommended as a not-for-profit hospital system.

Just make sure you really find something before you move...it is hard to find a job here. But also depends on your experience...

I currently work for Sharp and would recommend the organization to everyone! I worked for my current hospital for 2.5 years and then was able to transition into the New Grad program that just started after graduating from my ADN program in Sep/09.
I think they have a summer New Grad program starting so check their website at www.sharp.com. Good luck!
somebody told me they don't pay that great... i guess I'm just gonna have to find out... there's quite a bunch of positions open at scripps and sharp.. what makes it hard to get a job? my wife applied at sharp, she hasn't heard from them yet..

I work for Sharp, but I'm a new grad, I'm not sure how much they pay experienced nurses, but from what I heard it wasn't "the best", but they treat their nurses really well. This is from nurses who work for Sharp currently that have worked elsewhere before. But they all say they love it. :) I hope I do too!
Good luck!

Hey Sharps RNs,
I'm hoping to apply to Sharps as a new grad and was wondering what each of the hospitals/facilities are like and if there are specialties at each one? Which one do you work at it, in what department? I know a few of you have commented on how you like it as an RN, what's the learning environment like as a new nurse? Thanks ladies and gents :) appreciate any help or info

Hi, Zacaria , I'm having an interview today over the phone with Sharp Grossman, I'm a bit nervous but excited at the same time. I currently live on Chicago I'm 37 with 2.5 years of experience on Med/surg & tele stepdown units. I see you recommend this hospital. my questions is how much wage should I accept? I'm bilingual (Spanish) with a MSN degree and 3 kids to care for. I'm afraid not being able to support my kids if they go too low on me. Please advice and thank you in advance. Best regards, Lupita N.
