i was working in the critical care unit 3-11 these patients
are either bed ridden or in pallative care in the process of passing away
there was a 89 year old frail tiny woman that had renal failure
and was not supposed to live past the week , but she was a bible thumping
preaching momma and she made her self known when anyone came in the room
she would hold your hand , praise god and read you from her bible the scriptures
as the week progressed she grew to weak to walk and was bed ridden and we knew her death was soon
we go check in on her and wham ! she would open her eyes
and yell "i ant going till god sends for me so stop checking on me "lol
in the evening we had over 20 bed ridden patients
and was running back and forth from room to room trying to take care of their needs
and all at once we here singing coming from her room
there she was singing "when the role is called up yonder "
at the top of her lungs
and then we heard more singing , in 15 mins she had the entire floor or patients singing with her
it was unreal
then she stopped and laughed
"said praise the lord " and when we went in to see her
she was smiling and had passed away
she had over 20 bed ridden patients singing anf laughing
that day
i will never forget that spitfire

those are the best patients. and things like this give me no doubt that God exsists.
we had a little old lady one day that was comfort care only and her family was at the bedside all the time. she was the worst she had ever been and we all knew it wouldn't be long. she hung on and hung on all morning. finally her family went down for lunch.
her case manager stopped by while they were gone and i overheard her talking to the pt. she was telling her it was okay to go to Jesus. she told her not to worry about her family, that they were downstairs and they knew she would be going soon.
sure enough, only a few minutes after the lady walked out of the room, my little old lady went right to Jesus.

That makes your day
just the tinyest things on this earth
just a few small words
made a difference to that little old soul
and i know we are not always allowed to share our faith
in God due to so many religions
but its funny , almost like God allows me to be with the ones
that need him in that time
i kinda feel like a guardian angel (minus the wings) add the scrubs lol
God bless you
