SFSU NURSING BSN Spring 2022

Hello!! I haven't seen any threads posted for San Francisco State's Spring 2022 nursing program, so I decided to make one. 

My stats are: 3.75 GPA, 80% TEAS, 7K hours of CNA and MA healthcare experience, and bilingual. 

Super nervous because I didn't do well on my TEAS ☹.

3.86 pre req GPA 3.7 overall, 90.7 TEAS, CNA and phlebotomy license. Don’t get discouraged, I didn’t get in last semester just gotta try again!

How long did it take you to get to this point? if you don't mind me asking. I'm in my fourth year of undergrad & still haven't completed my B.S. because I was waiting to get in somewhere ?

Prereq GPA 4. Overall 4 . TEAS 93%. 400 hours of volunteer work at Kaiser and community service and bilingual. No CNA or LVN licensed. First time applying for SFSU and other schools. Rejected by Long Beach and on a waitlist for East Bay.

I have two years of CNA work, hospital internship w/280 hours, and 100 hours volunteering at another hospitals critical care unit. Last year I volunteered at a covid testing site. Ya girl desperate for that RN license LOL ?

But I mean since I'm about to graduate I guess all I can do is better myself for grad school. Congrats to everyone who got in! Nursing school is a great accomplishment, and I hope to join yall soon ?

4.0 prereq GPA, 3.89 cumulative GPA, 95% TEAS. I didn't have any healthcare experience nor did I have any volunteer experience nor am I bilingual, so I was honestly very surprised that I was accepted. I am a second career student with extensive work history in another field (not related to health at all) and I wasn't able to get my volunteer hours in due to covid in 2020 so they may have been more lenient because of that? I'm not sure. Don't give up! I thought for sure I wouldn't get in because I didn't have healthcare of volunteer experience, so don't stop trying!

I think having a high TEAS score can play a major role in getting accepted as well. When I emailed SF State nursing about the TEAS, they told me the last cohort had an average of 91%

I think they weighted the TEAS score a lot. My TEAS score was only 84, and I didn’t get in. But I got in all other schools that I applied to.

Stats: 4.0 pre-reqs, 3.96 overall, 91.3% on TEAS, 380 hours of a mix of multicultural and healthcare volunteer experience. Don’t feel discouraged! I’m sure you will get in somewhere, don’t give up!
