Hi! I'm applying to SFSU's BSN program for 2019 and was wondering if anyone else was as well? If so, it'd be helpful if you left your stats below :)
Hi everyone! I have 2 questions...
1) If a person never got an invitation for the interview, does that mean that person was denied?
2) I know it says on the website that one of the requirements for admissions is having avg 3.0 on PREREQ gpa, but it did not say CUMULATIVE GPA. Is that true? My friend was invited to an interview, but I was not. I had better TEAS score than he did. Also, I had both work and volunteer experience, but he only had volunteer experience. We both have the same prerequisites GPA which was around a 3.9.
Congrats on all those who were invited for an interview! Good luck with the interviews, and prepare well!
I got the email on Saturday.
1) I wouldn't definitively say they are declined yet....I think this might be the last week to be notified since interviews are from Oct 29-Nov 6. The first email and the interview email said final admission decisions will be sent on the 3rd week of November... It's possible that if someone wasn't invited for an interview, it may mean that they are on a waitlist and might be contacted. For example, if someone who was chosen for an interview declined to interview then the next person on the waitlist may be contacted. I'm not sure if this is accurate, so I don't want to get any hopes up. There's always next semester!
2) Um, what do you mean by what is true? In any case, when we applied on NursingCAS, our transcripts were sent to SFSU too, so they know our PreReq and cumulative GPAs. Hmm, that's interesting...Do you both have the same cumulative GPA? To be honest, I'm not quite sure what criteria they used to pick candidates this time..I heard a few of classmates also didn't get in even though they had more than enough volunteer experience and good TEAS scores.
Hi everyone,
I'm new to this thread, but I also applied to the BSN program for Spring 2019. I didn't receive an email over the weekend so I called the SoN @ SFSU today. They informed me that they had sent out all of the interview emails, so if you did not get one, you should not be expecting one. Though, she told me that we should wait until late November/December for the final decision email, which will tell us if we are in the program, waitlisted, or not accepted. She told me that even if we did not get the interview email, we may still be chosen for the program, if some of the interviewees do not meet the standard for the School of Nursing.
Best of luck to those attending interviews! Keep us updated!

Thanks for calling and sharing! Do you know how they pick the people they interview/what their criteria is on who gets one? And will they do more interviews to pick the people to fill in the spaces for those who they find don't meet their standards during the initial interviews? The process for SFSU is so mysterious and in previous years' threads, nothing is mentioned about their selection process.
I have no clue what the criteria was for getting an interview, but I am definitely interested in knowing. Though I have a feeling that health care experience and being apart of a multicultural organization mattered. She didn't mention anything about more interviews, but I am not entirely sure. Guessing we'll all find out when we get those decision emails haha
