Just wondering if there are differences in the rate of promotions between the services? For example does Navy promote faster than Airforce in light of equal performance or are there prety much the same?I am leaning toward Navy, however, I will be attending a 2nd degree BSN this fall, I will be applying for NCP program soon, although it really won't cover a whole lot being my program costs 40+K for one year!!! Anyway, I am not sure on the timeframe I am applying for early spring 2008, if there will be any slots left, if not I might have to consider another branch, or other form of scholarship the Navy has to offer. I can't afford to do this school on my own. Again, if I had to select another service do they promote at different rates? For me I'm loking to make this a career move, I'm in my 30's and want to make a career change.
Does each service promote at the same rate? How can I put this....HELL NO...lol!!!
There is not a lot of difference in promotion to O-3, but it vaires widely after that.
In general the USPHS, Army, Navy, and then the AF promote the fastest. The AF is about 2-4 yrs behind the other services in promotion to O-4 etc.
