It's not a test to confirm if the baby has Down Syndrome but it's a test to see which mothers are at high risk for Down Syndrome and neural tube defects. The above link will help explain the two step procedure and at what stage of pregnancy this test occurs.

What does a sequential test involve? My patient's admitting diagnosis was a GI bleed and a MI replacement. I do my share of hw, but i dont feel confident that i'm getting the correct answers so i'm asking people for a second opinion.
