I'm doing my senior practicum in pediatrics, and I was wondering if I should splurge and purchase a pediatric stethoscope? I have a perfectly functioning Littmann at the moment, but would it help a lot to have a pediatric steth?

I wouldn't bother. Your standard Littmann will be quite adequate. I had a peds stethoscope and when the tubing fossilized, I bought a standard one. A tip though, is to pay close attention to breath sounds on those little wee ones to determine where they're really coming from. With practice it won't matter how big the bell on your stethoscope is.
