1199SEIU Interview

Published

I am a new graduate RN and i have been scheduled for an interview with 1199SEIU for a possible RN position. Does anybody have an idea of what to expect during the interview. The letter they sent me stating that i might be giving an exam. Do you have any idea about the nature of the exam. I really want to do well in the interview because i need a job and most employers are asking for 1yr experience which i don't have. Thanks in advance for any idea, suggestions.

Specializes in ER, progressive care.

Not sure what 1199SEIU is...what kind of unit is it? Exams vary...most exams are math exams, but those are usually given after you have been extended the job offer.

Specializes in Sub-Acute/Psychiatric/Detox.
Specializes in Cardiac Step-down Unit.

I was given a med math exam before my interview. It was similar to the ones given at school. Here is what mine covered:

1. know your conversions

2. asked what time the med will finish

3. asked ml/hr

4. said to round to the 1st decimal place

5. ped, IV, po, med math questions

Thanks for the tips, did you get the job after the interview? what kind of job do they offer New Grads, is it hospital or Nursing home? Thanks again.
