See it, hear it, know it

See it, write it, say it, know it !

Doing this allows you to memorize large content in a manner that incorporates it into your daily life so you know it instead of just learn it for one test. Trust me...it works.Take all your lecture notes and write the notes on giant poster boards and then hang them all over the walls in your room. Everyday and every night read out loud all the notes on the poster board while getting dressed, eating, etc.

You see it everyday, say it out loud everyday and eventually all of the information stays in your mind so when you close your eyes you can envision all the information and hear it just as the posterboards are on your walls. This method has allowed me to have a 4.0!

By repetition you learn the material and don't just learn what you need for one test. By writing out the info all over the poster boards you see the info and by reading it out loud daily to absorb what you have seen, written and spoken. This method works and has got me through advanced patho, advanced assessment as well as allowed me to maintain a 4.0 in grad school

if you want to add to this , record yourself reading the info on the poster boards and listen to it daily on your commute to work and school.

I am an RN student attending my first semester of nursing clinicals and lecture. When I am in lecture, I am given so much information and the outlines do not narrow down much of the information. What would be your advice to figure out how/what to write on the poster boards? Otherwise, I may or may not be writing practically everything on the boards and accumulate 100s! When I take the test, it appears that I did not focus on the important aspects enough. I am wondering how can I extract the meat from these long and wordy chapters? Thank you!
