Security for people using lap tops/hand helds

If you use hand held/lap top or any non permanent computer charting in your hospital how do you check out the devices to nurses. How do you make sure they don't grow feet and walk. How many devices do you have for your core staff? How do you handle the time they need to be charged. Any help or tips would be appreciated. Thanks

Can anyone tell me how they sign out hand helds to floor nurses. Also how long do the batteries last and how many devices do you have per floor, how many nurses? Help!
