Would like to know if anyone on the forum has undergone the sec assesment for internationally educated nurses looking to practice in british columbia canada and resources for preparation

I'm an IEN ... actually getting ready for the SEC Assessment sometimes in October 2013.

My study resources are:

Canadian Nursing Fundamentals 4th Edition,

Mosby's Canadian Comprehensive Review of Nursing 2nd Edition,

Mosby's Prep Guide for the Canadian RN Exam,

CNA Prep Guide.

I'm a Travel Nurse educated in Europe and I started my application process with CRNBC in March 2013. My SEC Assessment will be General Nursing (2 days).

Hi gabello sorry for late reply Ive not been on here much, i have to take a general and paediatric one on the 29th october this year... I did my nursing in the UK

Hi there... super!!! ... mine is General confirmed on October 1 and 2...

Just as an heads up... I recently purchased "Mosby's Comprehensive Review for the Canadian RN Exam (Revised First Edition)" and I find it very useful... it costs @ $100CAD and it is available at the UBC Book Store...

At tis point when I only got left 1 month I'm getting nervous but also can't wait to finish with it once and for all... :)

Ohh...super ... are you somewhere near Vancouver...?

Hii :) ahh your lucky you will have yours out the way with soon, soo many nurses are lucky they only jave to do the general SEC but I have to do paediatrics too as I am not trained in that area so Im soooo nervous....I have ordered the book you mentioned :)

Im in the UK at present moving to vancouver near the end of september :)

Hi everyone

I am planning to take my SEC examination on AUGUST 2014.

It is a general nursing examination of 2 days.I really don't have any idea about what they are going to ask.Is it all about medical surgical nursing??? And what about the written diagnostic tests? What doest it mean? Except drug calculation what will they ask? Can someone provide few examples?

It would be of great help and admiration if someone helps me.
