Hello everyone - this is my second time applying. A month ago, I bombed the interview!
If this is your first time applying, there's a world of information from previous years, especially from the 2012 thread where we reached more than one thousand messages.
I know it's super early to start this thread, but this whole thing takes a long time to prepare and the more time we have before the deadline, the better.
I'm from the Seattle area, my background is Microbiology from the UW and I am again applying for the midwifery track.
Coniferous, the feeling is mutual. Although my patience is growing a little thin with time due to admissions losing one of my LOR's and now notifications with less than a week to or so to request time off from work (if needed)... That and I just want to know if my plan-B needs to begin haha. But then gain, all good things come in due time.
Congrats conniferous...I found out yesterday that they made a mistake and contacted me instead of you last week. Kind of a horrible way to find out that I didn't get an interview but I'm trying to find out if there's anything I can do to get the interview they said I had... Good luck next week!

Omg! That's awful! So they contacted you thinking you were someone else? How do you know they were trying to contact conniferous specifically?
Are you serious?! That's literally something out of my worst nightmare. Im sorry icelind, I hope there is a way you can still interview! I would be so upset if that happened to me.
This is interesting though, because if they meant to contact conniferous last week with the first wave of interviews, then that means that they havent sent out another round of invitations. Not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing...
Im tempted to email them and just find out my status, but I think it would be heart-breaking to find out i was rejected that way. I need to make moves though, so I might just have to do it...
In the second email (the one when they requested the specific date/time to meet) they addressed her instead of me. I realized this after seeing her post on facebook (hopefully not stalker-like). I wish I would have just been let down last week instead of feeling confident, getting ready for the interview and then getting crushed. I am really happy for you conniferous, just kind of in a daze right now regarding my own future. This morning I called and left a few voicemails for some of the faculty and actually just spoke with one...planning on meeting with someone either next week or the following to discuss things. Thanks all!

After all that I feel like they owe you an interview. Just sayin'.

I just sent an email and they responded very quickly. I basically asked if they're still inviting people and they said they're still in the process of contacting people for interviews. If we're not invited, we get a letter at the end of this process. =| So there is still SOME hope
