Seattle Nursing Programs

Published

So excited!!! I am moving to Seattle, WA with my fiancé! I am currently posses a 3.3 cumulative GPA, and I am registering to finish my last two prerequisites, Statistics and Chemistry here in Alabama. I am planning to be in Seattle by Jan. 1 of 2018. I am a CNA and currently working on transferring my CNA license to Washington State, I have two years experience as a CNA, no recorded volunteer hours (but that can be compensated for from my manager or family) and my GPA should bump to at least a 3.8 if all goes well. Can anyone tell me how the following nursing programs feel about transfer students and which one will be more willing to accept me/which one I most well qualify for?

~Tacoma CC

~Bellevue CC

~All Seattle Districts (North, Central, South)

~Shoreline

~Highline

~Any others I could qualify to enter?

PS. I have been accepted to all colleges, but have not applied to the nursing programs

All of the Seattle area nursing programs are competitive. They should also have guidelines on their website (such as a breakdown of their point system) that will give you a good idea as to if you'll be accepted. I'd suggest checking out their websites and seeing how you compare to their recently accepted classes.

I have tallied up my score for most of the colleges I've applied to and it looks like I've got a pretty good chance of having a competitive score. The question is if they would even consider an out of state transfer student? I've signed all of my applications under my fiancé's Seattle address but I am not actually moved there yet .

ALSO*** how do I check out the scores of recently accepted classes? I have yet to see it on any website but I could be looking Over it .

If they don't say on their website that transfer status is a factor, I wouldn't worry about it. They are pretty clear on their admissions standards and how they rank applicants.

I haven't looked too closely at their sites as I am not going for an ADN, but there's been a number of threads on here for each school where people have discussed their stats and if they were accepted, waitlisted, etc. I also believe if you asked advising they would tell you how many points you should aim for based on the previous class.

It looks like North is using a lottery for Fall 17 - in which case getting in depends on luck, too! Nursing Program | NSC
