Seattle Children's Residency Feb 2022

Hi everyone

I wanted to start this thread for applicants of the Feb 2022 cohort at Seattle Children's. As the application closes today, I'm hoping we start hearing whether we received an interview or not. If you applied, did you apply to the Acute Care or Critical Care track? Also, did you have clinicals at SCH or do you work at SCH already?

Hi! I applied for both tracks but put my preference to be for critical care. I unfortunately didn't get to have peds clinicals due to COVID but currently work as a CNA at SCH. Looking forward to hopefully getting an interview

Hi! Okay, so sounds like you haven't heard anything yet either. That makes me feel better haha. 

What floor are you a CNA on? I had < 40 hours peds clinicals, b/c of Covid, but I worked inpatient pediatrics for 8 years as a tech (CNA). I'm changing careers/finally going to nursing school! I lived in Seattle the last 4 years for my job (research) and moved for my 1 year ABSN program, but I really want to come back to Seattle! 

What floor are you on? What unit did you put as top choice?

I work on the cardiac ICU! My top choice was the Nicu and second CICU. I’m guessing we should hopefully hear back from them sometime next week

I applied for the critical care track! I applied for NICU first choice, PICU second, and CICU third. I had clinical opportunities in NICU, PICU, Adolescent/Child Psychiatry, and I'm currently doing my senior practicum in the Surgical ICU. I also have not heard anything yet!

Wow, you had great clinical experiences! Were these all at SCH? And, makes me feel better you guys also haven't heard anything yet! Perhaps still hope.

I actually applied from out of state, from Texas! Did ya'll apply to other pediatric residencies? I have an upcoming interview for the Tacoma General NICU residency, and I know Providence Everett has a NICU residency as well, I just did not apply for that one. There's also a pediatric home health residency that I got an interview for but will not be pursuing.
