I am waiting to take my NCLEX-RN!! Once I gain my experience I'm considering travel nursing. Does anyone know if travel nursing in North Florida (Panhandle) allows for summers off? I'm not asking because I don't want to work. I'm asking because my husband has recently retired and will be taking care of the kids. We would like to be "snowbirds" and have a summer place back home in the north so we can still spend part of the year with family. I'm just asking if agencies offer winter season only positions. TIA!

Agencies will submit you to assignments whenever you want them. You are in control. No agencies specialize in winter work, although there are a lot more Florida assignments in the winter available.
You may also have the option of doing seasonal work as a hospital employee. This is certainly a thing farther south, not sure about the Panhandle.
No one is going to give you seasonal work right out of school. You need to pay your dues and get some experience first with a couple years on staff.
Thank you for your reply. I'm definitely looking down the road. I know that I will never be hired through an agency without experience. I just hope I can find something in the panhandle but you are right, seasonal work is more prevalent in South Florida.
