Hi, I am a new nurse as of July 2020. Long story short, my first job as an RN did not work out. I was not supported by my bosses and they did not foster an environment where I could make mistakes and ask questions without being ridiculed. I have been working in the COVID vaccine clinic and was just told I will only have around a month left there, and I should start looking for new jobs.
I am currently living/working in Boston, MA and would love to find a job on a postpartum unit here! My first position was on a pediatric med/surg unit so I do have some experience with newborn care! I have been looking at all the major hospitals and some smaller ones too.
I think my long term goal would be to work in labor and delivery and maybe eventually become a midwife. I am hesitant to try to work on a Labor and Delivery floor that does not offer a nurse Residency program, as I don't want to drown and for it to be too fast paced for me.
What are some L&D nurse residency programs worth apply to? I have been thinking of moving somewhere out west or maybe even south if I found a job worth leaving for!
All suggestions welcome ?
