Hello,
I know this is too early to start this thread but this is my last semester to finish all my pre-requisites for sdsu and I don't feel like I am going to make it to the program. Right now I have 63 points (3.7 cum gpa and 3.75 pre-req gpa 86% teas) but I am not doing so good this semester that I might end up with 59 points :/ I keep stressing out over my classes and right now I am doing great but I messed up in the beginning of the semester. Since the mess up, I am at guarantee two B's in my pre-req classes and I don't what else to do.
I need support

Hi LisaRed19,
Keep on trying and working hard, your battle is not lost yet by any means. Do really well on the rest of your exams, especially the final, and your professor might just bump you up to an A.
Even if you don't into the nursing program this year, remember that failure is not a death sentence. You have a lot options in front of you. If you didn't apply to other programs, then make sure that your application for SDSU next year is stronger than the one you sent in this year. Get some volunteering points or even work experience, take the TEAs over again, and/or take some classes that will boost your overall GPA. I know that it is very frustrating and even devastating to not have things go exactly as you wanted them to. I would know, I was rejected from SDSU last year. But you just have to be persistent and keep on believing in yourself. I have faith in you, LisaRed19, do you?

I have faith that I could get into the nursing program next year, because I will be re-taking four courses (two in summer, two in fall) and when I calculated again for the nursing points, I would have 69 if I get all A's in those four courses.
Is 69 points enough? Especially for the Fall?
I probably will take the TEAS test again, but it's going to be my last strike. What happens after three tries? Is it 3 tries per year?
I'm sad to hear that.. Are you re-applying?
Thanks for the support by the way, I appreciate it :)
I wouldn't be able to tell you if 69 points is enough or not. Just try to rack up as many points as possible. And with regards to the TEAs test, I do believe that you get 3 tries total.
Yes, I re-applied again this year. So I am just waiting to see if the SON accepts me or not. *Fingers crossed* haha. Feel free to message me if you have any more questions or need to talk about anything. I will be sure to try my best to help you out. :)
Yeah I am going to try :) I should take the TEAS test soon then before they make a new version. How did you study for the TEAS test? I bet you will :) are you a transfer student by the way? Cause you could have applied to spring as well if you weren't, I heard its much easier to get in.
I'm so sorry for the really late response. I've been really busy as of late. But I studied for the TEAS test with a study manual directly from the ATI website. And yes, I am a transfer student. Are you still on track and did you get the classes that you needed to re-take during the summer?
Its alright :) Did you apply to the spring 2012 semester by any chance? Or were you only able to apply for fall semesters because you are a transfer student. How does it work? I'm curious.
I actually ended up with A's and an A minus for the classes that I took this semester, so I do want to thank you for encouraging me because I was going through a tough time.
No, but I probably will this coming semester if I get a rejection letter, and this time it will only be two classes that I need to retake ^.^

Yes, I did apply for the Spring 2012 semester. But for that particular semester, I was not able to be accepted because of their transfer policy (which the guy at the admissions office said was that you had to be able to start your major as soon as your transferred into the university). But things change and maybe they started to allow some transfers into their Spring SON cycle.
You are very welcome for the encouragement during last semester! I'm glad to see that you pulled through with A's! That will help you a lot when it comes to Nursing School. Also it is great that it appears that you have a plan for the future regardless of the outcome of this cycle. I wish you the best of luck and remember that I am always here to answer any questions that you may have or if you just need somebody to talk to. :)
