Scripps Memorial Encinitas: input please!!!

Hello,

Please, please would anyone with input or comments on Scripps Memorial Encinitas write in! I've been offered a position there and really don't know much about the hospital. I got a "good feeling" from the atmosphere at the interview--I just hope it carries through to the working environment.

ANY sharing of experiences with the hospital would be greatly appreciated!

What floor? I did a clinical rotation second semester of RN school there. Its a small hospital. What information are you exactly looking for?

The Acute Surgical floor--am looking at a job there. I've worked Med/Surg before and it wasn't for me, I'm hoping Surgical will be a bit different.

My mom just started to work there and loves it , she works in the L&D unit shes has only good things to say about the hospital good luck!!!!!

Overall, Scripps is a good company to work for. Don't know about Encinitas specifically, except they allowed CNA to unionize, had them for ?2 yrs, and are either in the process of de-certifying or have already done so.

Hi, I work there but don't know a lot about the M/S floor. I know it's busy like every other M/S unit. Don't know the people though. I work in another unit and find the nurses smart and the people generally nice.

Overall, Scripps Encinitas is a good place to work in my opinion. However keep in mind that no place is perfect and all have flaws. But Scripps is a large & respected organization in San Diego. The Encinitas hospital is small and I have found that aspect quite enjoyable...easy to get to know everyone. Yet they are a good hospital with the resources of the larger organization. I feel the organization offers a lot of good benefits too. The hospital is located in Encinitas, which is a laid-back beach community and a fantasic place to live (in my opinion). I'm a San Diego native and won't live anywhere else besides Encinitas.
