science prerequisites

Published

Hi all

I am new to the forum and looking for a career change

I graduated 20 years ago with a BA in psychology then have another science degree, so all my prerequisites are complete

In looking at some of the school websites it appears the science courses need to be completed in a 7-10 year time frame before you start. Is this a hard and fast rule? I would not want to retake these courses again. In doing my research I noticed NYU and Downstate specifically had this 7 year rule. I will call schools after the holiday, but most of the time you get a secretary with no real answers

I want to attend part time to start. Any feedback would be helpful

Most schools have this rule, since alot can change in 7yrs. I know current nurses who are in the field now & are retaking AP for their BSN. If you took it 20 yrs ago there are some things that may have changed. If you don't use it you can sometimes lose it, that's basically the schools motto.

Maybe you can clep the courses? Give that a try.

But realistically I don't know of any schools that will take credits that are 20yrs old.

I have found 2 schools who have no time limit on science prereqs.
