Mode of Learning
The Practical Nursing Program at Southeast Arkansas College (SEARK) emphasizes hands-on, on-campus training, providing students with the essential skills and knowledge for primary and direct nursing care. This comprehensive program ensures that graduates are well-prepared for nursing employment.
Additionally, SEARK offers a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program with flexible eight-week classes available during the day and evening, held twice a semester. Classes are also offered on Saturdays for approximately ten weeks, with various options available during the Spring, fall, and extended Summer semesters.
NCLEX Pass Rates
The Practical Nursing Programme has had an impressive track record over the past five years. From 2018 to 2022, every student who took the licensure exam passed, resulting in a 100% pass rate. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the program's emphasis on thorough preparation and high-quality instruction, demonstrating its commitment to preparing students for successful nursing careers.
Admissions
Due to limited seats, class sizes are carefully controlled to guarantee high-quality instruction and individualized attention. As a result, not all applications are accepted into the program. Candidates are competitively selected and thoroughly evaluated for suitability and preparedness for the course. This rigorous admission process ensures that only the most qualified and committed applicants are accepted, upholding exceptional educational standards.
Accreditation and Approvals
- Southeast Arkansas College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
- The PN program is approved by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing.
Note: Graduates from SEARK's practical nursing program are eligible to apply for licensure through the Arkansas State Board of Nursing. Prospective students planning to move and work in other states should verify the program's eligibility for transfer, as SEARK does not hold national accreditation by a nursing accrediting body.
